Series collection - ‘Eating Music Campilation’ is the main project deliverable out of Eating Music Camp, which is a non-profit music summer camp, born with the record label - Eating Music, for the advanced study and musical career guide to young generation of Chinese artists/producers. 2019 is the year of 2nd term.

We recruited 9 students this summer to join this 2-week course and life experience. What they had been through is more than just the nutrition from the musical field. They have built up some great relationship between students and mentors, not just teaching and learning but same states of mind and emotions on music. It was a pure, immersing dreamtime for them.

The content of this compilation presenting here is all from the sparks of inspired collision, blended with the memories and experiences during the camp session into your eardrum. ”Banging Like 44” and ”firefly” which respectively produced by LimboLimbs from Beijing and one of our mentors Fishdoll (Electronic Musician/Singer) are from the assignment given by Eric Lau (Producer/Sound Engineer) that required students to make something out of 4/4 in 2 days.

”Cicada Fantasy”, produced by Kian from Guangzhou, is from an assignment by Fishdoll that producers can only use the sound samples from the environment surrounded.

Some special featured tracks like ”going up” is produced by iota who has been active for years as a DJ and he had his own releases as a instrumentalist and a producer back in the days. As one of our special guests, he was inspired by the days living in camp and made up his mind to make something happen. The consequence is obvious, music experience counts.

Collaborations like “Dushi Artist”, ”LOVEYOUTHATBEHARD”, ”Ghost”, ”Almost There” are from the same assignment given by sponsor and label manager ‘Cookie’. Students tried and inspired each other. They had a ton of fun among the basis of team spirit.

Tracks like ”Midsummer Lover”, “The Other Side” featuring with different vocals on the top of different beats and music are the most appropriate expressions of a dream-like summer time they have been through. Passions, pressure, hesitations, joy, desires…, it was all recorded in different sound frequencies and lyrical words.

In 2018, Eating Music and its crew has launched the satellites named Eating Music Camp to explore and find more musical space in the universe. Eating Music Campilation Vol.1, as a product of the exploration, its introduction says: “it may not be the most matured work of us, but a record of an initial stage of this camp”. Then again, Eating Music Campilation Vol.2 becomes a whole another story of a lot people’s hard work and the growth of EMC. It’s still genuine, and now it’s a matured, worth-listening, evocative piece of work by Eating Music.

We appreciate everyone in this compilation and everyone who are willing to spend time listening to it. Your support will encourage us to extend our passion for music. We got more stories to tell…
